This is the official MicroProse v1.1 patch for the Macintosh release of Sid Meier's Colonization, the turn-based strategy classic in which players guide a European power's settlement of the New World from first landfall to declaration of independence. The updater drops into an existing Colonization folder.
What the Patch Fixes
Per the bundled readme, v1.1 addresses reported problems running Colonization on PowerMac AV models and on systems with dual-monitor setups - both common pain points for the original Mac release.
How to Apply
Installation is trivial: copy the update file into your existing Colonization folder. The patch ships as a fat binary so it works on both 68k and PowerPC Macs, and the readme dates the release to January 17, 1996.
The Game It Patches
Colonization is a turn-based strategy title themed on European colonization of the Americas, with deep economic, diplomatic, and military systems built atop the Civilization design lineage and a path to independence as its win condition.
Provenance
The archive copy was uploaded by an end user (not affiliated with MicroProse) who passed along the official patch after noticing it was missing from the Info-Mac archive.
