The Doctor Is In is a fan-made Wolfenstein 3D scenario for the classic Macintosh by Mike Hunter, distributed through the Info-Mac archive. The pack contains a single level built around the conceit that the only way out of the Doctor's office is to face him head on.
Single-level scenario
Unlike the multi-level packs Hunter and other Mac authors released elsewhere, The Doctor Is In is a one-level scenario meant to be slotted into the Macintosh port of Wolfenstein 3D rather than played as a standalone game.
Premise
The level frames the player's check-up as a confrontation: the Doctor is in, he is ready, and avoiding him is not an option, since his office is the only exit. The horror-tinged setup is typical of the small, themed scenarios Mac Wolfenstein authors traded in the mid-to-late 1990s.
Author and feedback
Hunter solicited feedback at his Scripps Research email address and pointed players to his Wolfenstein-themed page at www.scripps.edu/~mjhunter/wolfen.html, where additional Mac scenarios were collected.
