Christmas'97 is the fifth annual release of Ingemar Ragnemalm's Christmas card and jigsaw puzzle game for the Macintosh. It is an editable jigsaw in which players can install their own art, custom pieces, background patterns, music and sounds, then pass the finished puzzle on as a personalized holiday card.
An editable jigsaw card
Beyond solving the included puzzle, the program is built around customization: artwork, piece shapes, background pattern, music and sound effects can all be replaced with the user's own files.
Personal Christmas card workflow
The author actively encourages customizing the game and passing it along as a personal Christmas card, under reasonable restrictions including running a virus check before forwarding.
One of the first color Mac jigsaws
According to Ragnemalm, the original 1993 release was the very first color jigsaw on the Mac, predating even Apple's own puzzle, and the 1997 edition is a substantially improved version of that lineage.
Licensing
The game is free for personal use during the Christmas season; outside of that window it is shareware. More information was originally hosted at the author's Lysator page.
