XBubbles is a simple game of logic from Maxym at Elegant Software, completely rewritten in Cocoa from the earlier classic Mac OS title Bubbles. The Cocoa rewrite adds new features and visual effects while keeping the puzzle core that made the original a small Mac shareware favourite of its era.
Logic puzzle core
Players clear the board by matching and popping coloured bubbles, working through stages that reward planning a few moves ahead rather than fast reflexes.
Cocoa rewrite
Version 1.2 was rebuilt from scratch in Cocoa for Mac OS X, gaining cool effects and a more modern look while remaining recognisably the same logic game as the original Bubbles.
Global score table
All registered players share the same public score table across the world, with a private local table kept in parallel so casual play stays separate from competitive ranking.
Localisation and Classic sibling
Japanese localisation is bundled with the Cocoa release, and the original classic Mac OS Bubbles remains available in both English and Japanese as a sibling download.
