Dicer 1.3.3 is a HyperCard-based dice game in the Yahtzee tradition, distributed as a stack for Classic Mac OS during the heyday of HyperCard shareware in the early-to-mid 1990s. Players roll five dice across multiple turns, banking combinations into a familiar scorecard.
Gameplay
Each turn allows up to three rolls, with the player locking dice between rolls to chase scoring categories such as three-of-a-kind, full house, small and large straights, and the bonus five-of-a-kind hand.
HyperCard Stack
The game ships as a HyperCard stack rather than a standalone application, requiring HyperCard or the free HyperCard Player to run. This made it easy for hobbyists of the era to study and tinker with the underlying scripts.
Era and Distribution
Dicer circulated through the Info-Mac and similar shareware archives, typical of small dice and card stacks that filled out personal Mac collections alongside HyperCard's flagship titles.
