Probe Demo

Probe Demo is a playable preview of an unreleased or limited-distribution Macintosh shareware title preserved in the Classic Mac archive. It is one of two surviving demo packages cataloged under the Probe name, distributed as a small downloadable trial typical of mid-1990s Mac shareware.

Demo format

As a demo, the package is intentionally limited in scope - a slice of gameplay or feature set meant to encourage registration of a full version.

Sibling release

A second Probe demo exists in the archive under a separate slug; the two are preserved side by side because the differences between the builds are not fully documented.

Platform

The build targets Classic Mac OS, distributed as a compact archive in the period when shareware demos circulated via FTP, BBSes, and CD-ROM compilations.
