Adventure Island is a small Macintosh role-playing game written by an independent developer (xphiler / Kim) in which the player has been shipwrecked on an island and must find a way to escape. It was distributed through the Info-Mac archive as a personal RPG project.
Shipwrecked premise
The setup is straightforward: you wake up stranded on an island, and the goal of the game is simply to get off it.
An indie RPG
The author describes Adventure Island as "a little game I wrote" with RPG mechanics, placing it in the long tradition of hobbyist Mac role-playing games shared freely through Info-Mac.

Like much of the Mac shareware era, the title reached players via the Info-Mac archive's adventure (adv) category alongside text adventures and small RPGs from independent authors.
