Ms Jungle Fever

Jungle Fever is a fan-made Monkey Shines world that retools the platformer's monkey-bar puzzles around a tropical jungle setting. Like other community add-ons for Andy McFadden and Steven Levy's Mac classic, it relies on the base game's engine and is loaded as a separate scenario file from the main Monkey Shines application.

The Monkey Shines editor

Monkey Shines shipped with an in-application level editor that exposed tiles, enemies, banana placement, and bonus rooms. That openness produced a steady run of shareware add-on worlds throughout the 1990s, of which Jungle Fever is one example.

Themed scenarios

Jungle-themed packs typically reskin the platforming tiles with vines, trees, and animal sprites while keeping the original physics and scoring. Players still chase Bonzo through tile mazes collecting bananas and avoiding hostile critters.

Preservation

The pack survives in the Macintosh Garden Monkey Shines collection, which preserves the base game alongside dozens of community-built worlds.
