Poly-RC 1.09 is a falling-block puzzler from STH (ecl.psu.edu) in which short rows and columns of one to four squares drop from the top of the well and stop when they hit other blocks or the floor. The objective is to stay alive by clearing the board.
How blocks clear
Squares vanish when the player arranges three or more of the same color in a line, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, rewarding spatial planning over raw speed.
Not just another Polytris
Although the silhouette resembles Polytris, Poly-RC is a distinct game with its own row-and-column drop mechanic rather than tetromino shapes.
Power-ups
Three special pieces shake up the board: bomb, weight, and radiation, each offering a different way to dig out of a tight stack.
Lineage
Poly-RC sits alongside the author's Polytris and Polybrid as part of a small family of Mac falling-block experiments distributed through Info-Mac in the late 1990s.
