Looney Lander is a 1993 Macintosh take on the classic Lunar Lander concept, written by MASS Productions. As the description on its release notes drily warns, it is a game where you try to land a ship, and that turns out to be quite a bit harder than it sounds.
Gameplay
Players pilot a small craft against gravity, balancing thrust against fuel and momentum to settle gently onto a landing pad. Misjudge the descent and the ship crumples on impact - a faithful homage to the arcade original.
Author
The game was distributed as Macintosh shareware by MASS Productions in 1993.
System requirements
Looney Lander targets 68k Macintoshes running System 7.0 through 7.6. The archive is roughly 257 KB. It does not run reliably under Classic on Mac OS X, but Basilisk II is a good fit; SheepShaver users have reported missing graphics on some configurations.
