Beached II is a 1998 isometric strategy game by Marc Boxall in which your boat sinks and you and two other survivors wash ashore on a tropical island. You have one week to build a raft and escape before a tornado arrives, all while keeping yourself fed, hydrated, and rested.
Core loop
Each in-game day pushes you to gather raft materials, hunt for food and water, and bank enough sleep to keep functioning, with the looming tornado deadline driving pacing.
Cooperate or compete
You can choose to share resources and help the other castaways finish their own escape, or focus on personal survival and leave them to fend for themselves.
Presentation
The game uses an isometric perspective rendered in 256 colors, in keeping with late-1990s Mac shareware strategy titles.
System requirements
Beached II runs on 68k and PowerPC Macs under System 7.0 or later, needs a 68020 or faster processor, and expects a 256-color display.
