Medley is a card game by Adam Saffer (Geckonidae@aol.com) built around rapid pattern recognition. Played with a special 81-card deck in which every card varies by shape, shading and color, the game challenges the player to race the computer to spot "medleys" -- groups of three cards that satisfy specific matching rules.
Gameplay
Each card in Medley's 81-card deck has a distinct combination of shape, shading and color. Players scan the layout for valid medleys -- three-card sets that satisfy the pattern criteria -- and try to claim them faster than the computer opponent. The result is a fast, stimulating exercise in visual logic familiar to anyone who has played similar set-matching games.
Documentation
The author asks that players read the enclosed instructions file for full rules and additional information before starting their first round. Saffer credits Medley as a fun and stimulating game suited to short, repeated sessions.
