Alan's Euchre is a 1998 computerized version of the trick-taking card game euchre for the Classic Mac, written by Alan Ewalt of Ewalt Enterprises. The shareware title plays the standard four-handed partnership form with a 24-card deck of nines through aces, pitting one human against three computer-controlled players.
How euchre plays
Two teams of two compete to win three or more tricks per hand, with the first team to ten points taking the match. Trump is set each hand by accepting or passing on the upturned card, in line with traditional euchre rules.
Solo against the computer
The player partners with one AI seat and faces two AI opponents. Hands, bidding, and trick play are all handled through a single Mac window aimed at quick casual sessions rather than tournament play.
Shareware release
Distributed as shareware, Alan's Euchre runs on Classic Mac OS and joined the late-1990s catalog of card games hosted on Info-Mac and the Macintosh Garden.
