Casino Blackjack is a 1995 shareware blackjack simulator for classic Mac OS by Scott Sams. It pairs straightforward single-table play against the dealer with sampled voice clips recorded by the author, who taunts the player with calls like "Busted!" after a losing hand.
Gameplay
The program models a basic casino blackjack table: place a bet, receive two cards, then hit, stand, double, or split against the dealer's up card. Standard 21-or-bust rules apply, with the dealer following conventional house behavior.
Author voice samples
What sets Casino Blackjack apart from the era's many card-game shareware titles is its use of digitized speech in the author's own voice for table calls and outcomes, lending the simulation a personal, slightly tongue-in-cheek atmosphere.
Release
Released in 1995 by Scott Sams, the title is preserved on Macintosh Garden alongside other small mid-1990s Mac shareware card games.
