Paragon Baccarat is a classic Mac casino simulation that brings the traditional card game of baccarat to the desktop. It is a sibling release to Paragon Poker and Paragon Blackjack, sharing a common visual treatment of green felt, stylized cards, and a quiet single-player table designed for unhurried hands against the computer.
The Game of Baccarat
Baccarat is a comparing card game played between a Player hand and a Banker hand, with the goal of betting on whichever total comes closest to nine. Paragon's implementation handles the draw rules and payouts so the user can focus on betting decisions.
Paragon Series Style
The Paragon casino titles share a consistent look and feel: a dedicated table per game, simple chip-and-bet controls, and a focus on accurate rules over flashy presentation. Together they form a small home-casino set covering baccarat, blackjack, and poker.
Single-Player Practice
The program is suited to learning the flow of baccarat without real money on the line, letting a player rehearse betting patterns and house-edge intuition at their own pace.
Running Today
Like the rest of the Paragon set, Baccarat runs comfortably under a classic Mac emulator such as Mini vMac or SheepShaver with the original archive expanded into the emulated disk.
