MacPC is a small word-game utility distributed through Info-Mac's word category. Billed by its author as the politically correct product label generator, it produces touchy-feely, new-age blurbs of the sort once required to dress up product packaging - intended as a humorous parody of late-90s marketing copy.
What it actually does
The program assembles canned label text on demand so that users do not have to think up the kind of soft-focus marketing language MacPC pokes fun at. The Info-Mac upload describes the workflow simply as letting MacPC end your drudgery rather than coining the phrases yourself.
Distribution
Mac Pc was uploaded to Info-Mac under game/word as mac-pc.hqx. The category placement reflects Info-Mac's convention of grouping novelty text generators with word games even when the program is more toy than puzzle.
Era and context
Generator gags of this sort were a small but recurring genre on the Info-Mac archive in the late 1990s, alongside corporate-jargon and excuse generators. MacPC sits in that tradition rather than offering any conventional gameplay.
