USA Puzzle is a small jigsaw stack built for SuperCard Player, presenting a map of the United States that the player reassembles state by state. It is one of the many lightweight, single-purpose entertainment titles distributed through the Info-Mac archive in the mid-1990s.
How it plays
The puzzle ships as a SuperCard project: pieces representing US states are scattered on the playfield and dragged into position to rebuild the map. There is no scoring or timer, just the quiet satisfaction of fitting the country back together.
SuperCard Player runtime
The download requires SuperCard Player, the free runtime Allegiant Technologies distributed so that authored stacks could run without owning the full SuperCard authoring environment.
Origin and distribution
USA Puzzle was uploaded to the Info-Mac game archive at info-mac/game/usa-puzzle.hqx and mirrored from there to nearly every classic Mac shareware collection, including funet, Sumex, and later Macintosh Garden.
Preservation status
The original BinHex package is intact in the funet mirror. Running it today requires either a vintage Mac with SuperCard Player installed or a System 7 emulator such as Mini vMac or Basilisk II with the runtime added.
This file is part of the MacTrove archive. See the Thank You page for the upstream mirrors we rely on. It is BinHex encoded — use The Unarchiver to decode it.
