DevilDarts is a darts game by Jason Kravitz with, in the author's own words, a fiendish twist: you must battle your way through six of the best dart players in damnation, challenging your unworldly foes to any one of seven different games. Up to four human or computer opponents can play at a time.
Premise
The hook is straight pulp horror, classic mid-90s shareware tone: ordinary pub game refit with infernal opponents and a tournament ladder that runs through the underworld. Kravitz played the framing for laughs as much as menace.
Game variety
Seven different dart variants ship in the box, covering the standard competitive formats players would expect from a real-world darts night, with mix-and-match seating for human and CPU players up to four total.
Technical notes
Version 2.0 ships as a fat binary, running on any PowerPC or 68040 Macintosh, and asks for 4 MB of RAM, 256 colors, and Sound Manager 3.0 or better. It was distributed via Info-Mac as DevilDarts 2.0 and uploaded by the author.
