About

Ortograf is a Macintosh Scrabble-style word game written by Gilles Blanchette of Logiciels Ortograf, distributed through the Quebec-based teamsoft.com. The Info-Mac archive preserves both the English 1.0 release and a French-language 1.0 (FR) sibling, each shipping the same engine with localised interface and word list.

About the game

The README on the English release introduces Ortograf as a way to "play Scrabble with your Macintosh" and highlights four levels of difficulty alongside a polished native interface. The French README adds that the game offers five types of party / match modes, framed in the same straightforward Mac-style presentation.

French and English editions

The two siblings ship as separate downloads sharing a common engine. The English build is referenced as "Ortograf 1.0" with its dedicated home page at teamsoft.com/ortograf.english/, while the French build is "Ortograf 1.0 (FR)" hosted at teamsoft.com/ortograf. Both are Info-Mac shareware submissions from the same author.

Author and distribution

Ortograf was authored by Gilles Blanchette and distributed by Logiciels Ortograf via teamsoft.com. Submissions to Info-Mac were made from the ortograf@teamsoft.com address, and propagated to the funet mirror used as the basis for this archive.

Provenance

All descriptive text above is taken from the submission headers embedded in ortograf-10.hqx and ortograf-10-fr.hqx. No Macintosh Garden or MobyGames page was located for this Mac edition during enrichment, so no further metadata or screenshots have been added.
