Slider is a 1997 Classic Mac OS puzzle game by C.K. Haun, published under the RavenWare label. In the Sokoban tradition, players push key blocks across flashing goal squares to unlock the door to the next room, mixing methodical thought with dexterity and time-pressured scoring.
Gameplay
Each room presents a configuration of blocks, walls, and target squares; success requires planning a route that lands every key on its goal without trapping pieces in unrecoverable corners.
Scoring
Slider layers a time-based score on top of the puzzle solving, rewarding players who can both reason about a layout and execute their plan quickly.
System Requirements
The game runs on System 7.0 through 7.6 and Mac OS 9, with native support for both 68k and PowerPC architectures.
Recognition
Slider was awarded Shareware of the Week in MacFormat magazine issue 42, a notable mark of quality for an independent puzzle release of the period.
