Bombs is a nicely made Minesweeper clone for early Macintoshes, written in 1991 by Christer Ericson under the BIT by BIT Productions banner. It brings the familiar logic-deduction grid to System 6 and 7 desktops with a clean black-and-white interface tailored to compact Macs.
Gameplay
The objective mirrors the classic: clear a grid of hidden cells without detonating the buried bombs, using number hints to deduce safe squares and flag suspected mines.
Author and Origin
Christer Ericson would later become known in game development circles for his work on collision detection, but Bombs is one of his early shareware Mac titles distributed under BIT by BIT Productions.
System Requirements
The 68k application runs on System 6.x through System 7.6 and works cleanly under Mini vMac, Mini vMac II and Basilisk II for modern emulation.
