Macgribbage is a Classic Mac implementation of cribbage, the centuries-old two-player card game traditionally scored on a pegged board. It survives in the MAC project archive as macgribbage.sit, a StuffIt bundle preserved from the late shareware era when Mac users routinely wrote and traded their own card-game adaptations.
The Game of Cribbage
Cribbage pits players against each other in alternating deals, scoring points for combinations such as fifteens, pairs, runs, and flushes during play and in the show, with the first to peg out the board taking the match.
About This Release
The archived bundle is a compressed StuffIt (.sit) file rather than a BinHex submission, so the in-archive metadata is limited to the filename. No author blurb or version text is recoverable without unpacking the binary.
Preservation Note
No matching Macintosh Garden listing was located at enrichment time for the slug Macgribbage, so background here describes the cribbage genre and the artifact's preservation status rather than specific authorship details. Screenshots are not attached.
