Pheta is a sibling release of Tad Woods' Spacestation Pheta, a fast multi-screen climbing game for the classic Macintosh. The player navigates a series of single-screen rooms packed with cannons, transporters, secret ladders and other surprises, working through one hundred built-in screens or custom screens of their own.
Gameplay
Each level is a single screen of platforms and ladders. Movement is quick and the hazards are varied: cannons fire at you, transporters relocate you across the room, and hidden ladders open new routes. Reaching the goal advances you to the next screen.
Editor and content
The package ships with one hundred ready-made screens plus a built-in editor so players can author and trade their own level sets. A solution feature is included for stuck players, alongside printable help documentation.
Presentation
The game runs in colour and uses digitised sound effects, both notable for an early-1990s Macintosh title aimed at compact hardware.
Distribution
Spacestation Pheta is shareware, with a registration fee of 9.95 US dollars. Some features remain disabled until the shareware fee is paid. The Info-Mac archive carries version 2.7 of the main game.
