GolfMeister is a shareware golf-scoring utility from Dave Smith of Barking Spider Software in Etobicoke, Ontario. Rather than simulating play on screen, it records and analyzes real-world rounds, tracking statistics such as greens in regulation, drives in fairway, eagles, and birdies for serious recreational golfers.
What it tracks
The submission notes call out greens in regulation, drives in fairway, eagles, and birdies as core stats, with additional fields for the per-round scoring detail that competitive amateurs typically log by hand on a scorecard.
Reports and printing
Beyond raw entry, GolfMeister produces printable reports: a course listing, round listings (both complete and filtered by course), and printed copies of the scorecards entered, turning the database into something a player can carry to the next round.
Shareware origins
The Info-Mac upload comes directly from the author's golfmeister@rogers.com address, with an earlier variant (golfmeister-v3) submitted from the same author's @home.com address — a typical late-1990s Mac shareware lineage.
Sibling release
This Info-Mac entry is a sibling of the golfmeister-0 release on Macintosh Garden, representing the same Barking Spider Software product as it evolved across submissions.
