About

Anubis Casino is a 1999 PowerPC Macintosh shareware title from Anubis, Inc. that bundles seven popular casino table games into a single application. Players can move between Baccarat, BlackJack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Casino War, Craps, Pai-Gow Poker, and Roulette from one common interface, with per-user preferences for sound and keyboard control.

About the game

The submission describes Anubis Casino as a faithful simulation of seven classic table games with detailed graphics and a user interface tuned for the casino floor experience. Each user account stores its own preferences; chip placement and creation are highly configurable, and play is driven through any combination of pull-down menus, on-screen buttons, menu shortcuts, or fully customisable keystrokes.

System requirements

Anubis Casino requires a PowerPC Macintosh running System 7 or later, with the Macintosh Garden listing also citing compatibility with System 8 and 8.5. Display is best at thousands of colours (16-bit), and Apple's Speech Manager is optional for spoken cues. The Garden notes the title also runs cleanly under SheepShaver emulation today.

Author and distribution

The game was authored by Anubis, Inc., contact John at anubisinc@mindspring.com, with a developer site at anubisweb.com. Shareware registration was handled through Kagi at anubis@kagi.com. The Info-Mac copy preserved here is version 1.0.3; Macintosh Garden lists an equivalent v1.0 download of the same package.

Provenance

Descriptive text above is reconciled between the BinHex submission header for anubis-casino-103.hqx and the Macintosh Garden entry for Anubis Casino (macintoshgarden.org/games/anubis-casino), which contributed the year, system-requirements detail, and screenshot references.
