Gunshy is a target-shooting arcade game by Richard Morrison of Prisim Software, released in 2000. The PowerMac build is the native PowerPC variant of the same game: players blast away at ducks and targets to score points and advance, while learning which objects - vases, the Gold Duck - they are not supposed to hit.
How it plays
Each level throws a parade of targets across the screen. Quick, accurate shots score points and progress the game; hitting the wrong object costs you. The challenge lies in pattern recognition and trigger discipline as the lineup gets busier.
Hidden extras
Gunshy is known for unlockable cheats and a hidden multiplayer mode that rewards players who keep coming back. The PowerMac version preserves these surprises while running natively on PowerPC hardware for smoother frame rates than the 68k build could manage.
Author and publisher
Written by Richard Morrison and published by Prisim Software, Gunshy is part of the wave of small, polished Mac shareware that filled the late-classic Mac OS catalogue.
Compatibility
The PowerMac variant targets PowerPC Macs running classic Mac OS. It runs under SheepShaver for modern preservation work.
