Level Select Hold down option and command while selecting new to start at any level. Very Hard Network Game At the Menu, type in Command+M and you will be able to select a network level. Select a level, enter it, and you will find that you can select your people on your team and the network level turns solo. The bad thing is that the level hardness goes to the hardest. Cheat Codes To use these cheat codes, you absolutely need version 1.2 or later. If you don't have it, download the patch. How the codes work: While playing, press and hold the control button while you type the code. If you have the control button set as your trigger, you may run into some problems (codes not working). To solve this, select the bayonnet before using the cheat code. The cheats from hell to nimrod were released by Paranoid Productions at the same time with the v1.2 updater patch. The rest were reported by players who discovered them. Cheat Code Result HELL Give yourself full health. ARM Give yourself full armor. PHISH Changes your field of view. Try it several times for different settings. BLUE Map shows all locations. GODEYE Map reveals all locations and shows enemies (green dots) and objects (white dots). ASD Make a "super" jump, much larger than a normal jump. WOO Give yourself two pistols and all the ammo therefore. FREEDOM Give yourself two shotguns and all their ammo. XSE Give yourself an M16 and all the ammo for it. AXES Give yourself all the access cards. MEDIC Give your squad members full health. CHAT Force a squad member to do a "chit chat." NIMROD Make your squadies rebel against you. ASLAG Give yourself all weapons with full ammo and full health. OXY Give yourself full oxygen. VOMIT Changes your field of view to 170 degree vision. May cause motion sickness in some people. ACID You can see in infrared vision. KLATU Will freeze all enemies. KSA Will kill squad member one. KSB Will kill squad members two. KSC Will kill squad members three. KSD Will kill squad member four. HORSE Give yourself all types of grenades. DETH Give yourself a SMAW and full ammo for it. Playing Damage Incorporated (DI) is a great way to experience real battle situations from a close perspective. Strategy is as essential in the game as it is i real life. But one must not forget that DI is a game; thus the strategies used are a blend of real army tactics with game interphase features. The most important of which is covering your back, or - as us computer geeks call it - save often... ! Saving Save often because when you lose, you start back from the last saved game, even if that is in a previous mission! Always save right at the beginning of each level using a dinstinct file name. Make it a habit to save as soon as you secure an area. Occasionally, save as a different file name in the same level, because there are 2 rare problems/bugs that can be encountered: (1) one of your teammates can get stuck completely somewhere or (2) some particular switches when clicked more than once can cause the level to get stuck. In both cases you may go ahead and keep saving for a while before realizing that your mission cannot be completed! ! In the three lower difficulty levels, you can save just anywhere. But in "WWII" and "Vietnam", you must place yourself inside one of the areas that appear purple on the map ("radio zones") in order to succeed saving. In these higher levels, try to get first to the closest saving area using the map; clear it and save. Always keep the closest purple area as your base. Launch an attack from there, kill some bad guys, then come back to save. Progress like this from one purple area to the next until you clear them all. Leave for the end all the remote areas. ! Difficulty levels When increasing the difficulty level, the following differences occur in the game: ! &middot; enemy projectiles travel faster and do more &middot; enemies can sustain more damage &middot; more enemies are added &middot; some enemies are "upgraded" into harder (a green White Paladin may become a Blue one, for instance) ! Medkits and ammo number and placement, however, are unaffected by the difficulty level. ! The weapons The bayonet is not very usefull, as it inflicts quite low damage. If you run low in ammo, or play the level "Mandatory Suicide" (where you start off with only a knife) you'll have no choice. The key is to run up to your targets and lunge forward with the knife while you're running. This way, the kinetic force from your running is added to the damage inflicted on your adversary! This run-stabbing takes practice to get used to, but can be quite handy. ! The pistol is a nice but light weapon. Don't miss the second Beretta in White Night Engagement 3, Part II. Two Berettas make a really good job loading the enemies with bullets in no time. They're also quite accurate. They take rather long to reload though. They are very useful for taking out turrets from far, when you're out of rifle ammo. ! The M-16A rifle is the best weapon of all! Dark Castle v1.2 Instructions Dark Castle on 5I2K and 512KE Machines The enclosed Dark Castle disk will not run on a 512K or 512KE Macintosh. If you are using either of these machines, you can mail the original Dark Castle disk to Silicon Beach Software Inc. and request the 512K version (two 400K disks) or the 512KE version (one 800K disk). Note the 512K and 512KE versions will not run on a Macintosh II. Getting Started Before you do anything else, make a working copy of the Dark Castle disk. Dark Castle is not copy-protected so that you can do this. You may play Dark Castle using one of three configurations: one 800K disk. a hard disk or two 400K disks (see Dark Castle on 512K and 512KE Machines above). We recommend playing Dark Castle on a working copy of the 800K disk and storing the original in a safe place. Instructions for preparing a working copy for an 800K disk or hard disk are given below. Dark Castle on an 800K Disk Making a Working Copy If you have an 800K drive, use the standard Finder copying procedures to copy the entire disk to a new double-sided disk. Booting the Game If your Macintosh is off. insert the working copy of Dark Castle in the internal disk drive and turn on the computer. If your Macintosh is on, shut it down and restart it with the working copy of Dark Castle in the internal disk drive. The game will automatically load and take you to the Title screen. This scene (with the Castle and the thunder and lightning) will stay on the screen until you click the mouse. When you get to the Scores of Merit screen, click on the Info button for instructions on how to play. Click on the Options button to choose which keys control movement and whether you want vertical or horizontal tracking for the mouse. You might want to try both tracking methods to see which feels best to you. Dark Castle on a Hard Disk Making a Working Copy Although playing Dark Castle from a hard disk does not speed up game play. it does make the process of starting the game somewhat faster. To make a working copy of Dark Castle on your hard disk, insert the Dark Castle disk in your disk drive and copy the files Dark Castle, Data A, Data B and Castle Preferences to your hard disk. These four files must be in the same folder or all at the Desktop level of your hard disk. You may name the folder anything you like, but do not rename the game's files. Do not copy the files called System or Finder to your hard drive! They have been modified and will not work with any other software.
