Infini-D Frequently Asked Questions GENERAL ___________________________________________ Q I’m running Infini-D on a Power Mac and have QuickDraw 3D installed but I don’t get any interactive rendering. What’s the problem? You need to select QuickDraw 3D as the renderer within Infini-D. Choose AppleSW (or Apple HW if you have an Apple QuickDraw 3D accelerator) from the Views floater. Set the shading mode to fast, better, or best and QuickDraw 3D will take over, shading the views in real time. Q Why are the Apple QuickDraw 3D renderers grayed-out? I installed QuickDraw 3D on my Power Mac, but I can’t get it to work. Be sure you’ve left enough RAM for QuickDraw 3D to load. Before launching Infini-D, check About This Macintosh to see how much RAM is free. Set your Infini-D partition to 3 to 5 megabytes less than the current amount of free RAM. Then, when Infini-D is launched, the system will have enough space to load QuickDraw 3D (and QuickTime). Q How do I use the object library? To use objects in the object library, place an object into the world. Edit the object to enter the Workshop and open the object library from the FILE menu. Select the object you wish to manipulate and press the “Place” button. Click Done. To save an object, enter the workshop with the model to be saved. Open the object library and press the “Add” button. The object will then be available later and can be retrieved using the above steps. Q How do I link objects? The easiest method is to use the sequencer. In the sequencer, if you drag an object name onto another object name, the object you dragged will become the child of the second. Remember that children always follow the parent, but the parent doesn’t follow the child. Q How do I change the surface color throughout time? In the sequencer, COMMAND double-click (Macintosh) or CONTROL double-click (Windows) on the name of the object whose surface you’d like to change, then choose the “Change Surface At Eventmarks” Animation Assistant from the ANIMATION menu. Q When I try to access the color picker the computer seems to freeze. When I press RETURN Infini-D functions again, but the color picker never appears. What’s up? The Macintosh system software may put the color picker on the monitor with the most colors. On AV Macs this may be the AV port or a board that is in your machine (there doesn’t need to…

CLSF 38-25916-6725 CLASSIFIED This briefing has been updated and revised many times to ensure accuracy and completeness. In a crisis, our planet's survival depends on you. We cannot overstate the importance of the information contained herein. Since Contra was terraformed and settled by emigres from Earth, we have had the benefit of living within a controlled environment. As you well know, our weather is always perfect and there is food for everyone--wholesome, delicious food. Anyone wishing to travel the surface of our planet simply takes a glide ramp, a robot-taxi, or a floater. This controlled and balanced environment is maintained by three massive and powerful computers buried deep beneath Contra's surface. Without these computers, we would be forced to brave the elemental fury of Contra and provide for ourselves using primitive methods and skills. Contra's three Filtering Computers maintain and monitor all surface-side systems. RESP 21-86459-9723 YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES TO CONTRA Since these three Filtering Computers are biomechanical in construction, they must be monitored. It is the duty of the Central Mentality to monitor these Filtering Computers to ensure they function properly. The Filtering Computers are located in an extremely high-security area called the Underground Complex. With one exception, monitoring of the Filtering Computers has always proceeded without trouble. Since training and costs prohibit frequent changing of the Central Mentality, you will be in the Complex for 500 years. Your time in the Complex will be spent in a state of limited cryogenic suspension. You will be frozen to nearly absolute zero and then stored in a cryogenic capsule within the Complex. Your brain will remain in an Alpha state, receptive but quiet, requiring only minimal biological functions. You will be able to survive in this state for your tour of duty: 500 years. WRNG 27-30651-1804 IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG It won't. But if it does, the computers responsible for all of our surface-side systems will awaken you and inform you of the problem. We are confident you will be capable of solving any situations which may arise. The fate of the entire population of Contra will rest in your abilities to make logical decisions and choices. Your body will be warmed to the point where marginal biological activity is resumed, supplying your mind with the necessary nutrients and oxygen to function at peak capacity. Unfortunately, we cannot revive you completely until the end of your tour of duty. Due to the Gregory Franklin incident (refer to the letter from the Lottery Commission), we are forced to make clones of you. When you complete this briefing, the cloning procedure will begin. These clones will be installed in the Complex as a backup system, should anything go wrong with yo…

INNECTO X The Connection Puzzle for Mac OS X 45RPM Software PLAYER’S GUIDE Welcome to Innecto X Some puzzles ask you to think fast. Others ask you to think hard. Innecto X asks both questions at once — and it will have you coming back for “just one more game”. The board is alive with wires, microchips, T-junctions, and a power source just waiting to be connected. Your task is deceptively simple: rotate every tile until each one is linked to the power source. But what begins as a gentle warm-up evolves, level by level, into something that will stop you in your tracks and keep you there until it’s solved. Innecto X draws on a proud lineage of rotating-tile network puzzles, reimagined for Mac OS X with a crisp Aqua-native interface, smooth animation, and over 100 uniquely generated levels. No two games are the same. Timed levels ratchet up the pressure. Par levels demand economy and precision. Wrapping boards fold the edges of reality. And combo levels combine all of these into some of the most satisfying puzzles you’ll encounter on any platform (and you can play Innecto on nearly every Apple platform!). Whether you have five minutes between meetings or five hours to lose in a favourite chair, Innecto X is waiting to soak up any spare moments that you have. Progress is saved automatically, so you can always pick up exactly where you left off. The game was conceived as a puzzle that rewards patience, pattern recognition, and logical deduction — not reflexes or luck. Every level is solvable. Every level is fair. And every level, once solved, leaves you just curious enough about the next one to click “Play” one more time. And when you’ve finished? Play it again – the levels are computed every time you play, so no two games will ever be alike! ★★★ System Requirements Innecto X runs on any Macintosh with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or later. A G3 iMac or better is recommended. Innecto X is a Universal Binary and runs natively on both PowerPC and 32bit Intel Macs. Innecto X is optimised to run beautifully on the full range of OS X hardware, from modest iBooks to the fastest G5 Power Mac towers. Installing and Launching Drag the Innecto X application from the disk image to your Applications folder (or wherever you prefer to keep your games). Double-click the application icon to launch. That’s it. Your game progress is saved automatically using Mac OS X preferences. Your progress is stored per-user, so multiple users on the same Mac each keep their own save data. How to Play Innecto X includes comprehensive in-game help covering all rules, controls, game modes, and tips. To access help at any time, choose Help → Innecto Help from the menu bar while the game is running. About Innecto X Innecto X is the Mac OS X incarnation of a puzzle game that runs on every generation of Apple hardware. From the earliest Apple ][ home computers to the latest Apple hardware, the underlying…

The Connection Puzzle PLAYER'S GUIDE Apple Macintosh Version 45RPM Software 45RPM Software support@45rpmsoftware.com Original Innecto 68K concept based on NSNet by Kenneth Dyke and William Coldwell. NSNet was itself inspired by The Network Game by Pavils Jurjans. Apple Macintosh version design, programming, graphics, and extended concepts: Pascal Harris Special thanks to: Sarah, Daniel, Felix and the entire beta test crew. If you have questions regarding the use of Innecto 68K, or any other 45RPM Software products, please write to: support@45rpmsoftware.com Copyright © 2016–2026 Pascal Harris / 45RPM Software. All rights reserved. Apple and Macintosh are registered trademarks of Apple Computer, Inc. INTRODUCTION Innecto 68K is a puzzle game of connections. The board is filled with wires, microchips and T-pieces. In the middle sits the power source. Your task is simple to describe but endlessly absorbing to master: rotate the components so that every piece on the board is linked to the power source. The concept traces its roots to the network-tile games of the early Mac era, but Innecto 68K has been reimagined and extended for the ‘Classic’ Macintosh family of computers, from System 2.1 through to MacOS 9.2 (and the Classic environment). With more than 100 levels, generated fresh for each game, and ranging from gentle warm-ups to fiendish timed games, move counted games and wrap-around puzzles, this game will keep even the most dedicated puzzler occupied for many hours. Progress is saved – so there’s no need to replay a level (unless you want to!). SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Innecto 68K runs on any Apple Macintosh computer with at least 128K of RAM and System Software 2.1. On more powerful Macs (Mac Plus, Mac SE) there is sound, and on colour Macintosh with 32bit QuickDraw it runs in colour. LOADING THE GAME You should immediately make a backup copy of the Innecto 68K disk and use the backup for everyday play, or install it onto your hard disk. Place the original in a safe place. Simply double click the icon to launch Innecto 68K. Game progress in saved in the Innecto preferences file, which you can find saved in your System folder. Note that, even on System 7.1 and newer, the preferences file is in the root of the System folder. THE GAME Rules and Object The playing field is a grid filled with tiles. Each tile is a circuit component: a straight wire, an elbow, a T-junction, a crossroads, a microchip, or the power source. The power source sits at the centre of the board. Your goal: rotate the tiles until every component on the board is electrically conn…
