Parallels Desktop for the Mac User Manual Errata page 1: Parallels Desktop also includes the Image Tool utility. page 3: replace step 4 with the following: 4 Next, you must install Parallels Tools. A Parallels Desktop virtual machine is just like a real, standalone computer, but it’s a section of your computer’s hard disk into which you may install another operating system that will use your computer’s hardware. This virtual machine is set up in such a way that you can have a non-Macintosh operating system running on your computer while you have Mac OS X running. Quick Start Guide for Macintosh The Eudora® 5.0 User Manual for Macintosh is on the Eudora CD included in the product box. If you prefer a printed and bound copy, you can purchase one from www.eudora.com or call 1-800-2-EUDORA (1-800-238-3672). Introduction This Quick Start Guide shows how to install and configure the Eudora software. It also provides keystroke shortcuts and basic email procedures such as sending and receiving messages. For the Windows version, turn the booklet over. Finding Information You can find more information about Eudora in the Eudora 5.0 User Manual for Macintosh included on the Eudora CD. The manual is in Portable Document Format (PDF). To read the manual, use Adobe® Acrobat Reader, a software utility included on the Eudora CD. After you install Eudora, you can access the manual and other Eudora documents by opening the Eudora folder and then the Documentation folder. To open the manual, double-click the user manual icon; Acrobat Reader automatically opens it. The manual topics are linked. When you see a topic associated with a page number asso- ciated to a topic in the table of contents, index, or in a cross-reference, click the topic or page number and that topic appears. If you prefer, you can print the PDF manual. From the File menu in Acrobat Reader, choose Print. If you need help while using Eudora, go to the Help menu and choose a topic or turn the Balloon Help on. Quick Start Guide for Macintosh This Quick Start Guide shows how to install and configure the Eudora software. It also provides keystroke shortcuts and basic email procedures such as sending and receiving messages. Finding Information You can find more information about Eudora in the Eudora® 5.1 User Manual for Macin- tosh. The manual is in available only in Portable Document Format (PDF) on the Eudora web site. To read the manual, you will need to use Adobe® Acrobat Reader, a free soft- ware utility. To access and download the manual, do the following: 1 Go to the Eudora web site: www.eudora.com. 2 At the top of the page,choose Support (in one of the blue boxes). 3 In the list, choose Eudora Manuals. 4 Under Eudora 5.1 for Macintosh, choose User Manual. Installation Guide Quicken 2002 Deluxe for Macintosh System Requirements • Macintosh or Mac OS compatible computer with PowerPC processor • Memory: • Mac OS 9 users: 64 MB installed RAM with virtual memory on • Mac OS X users: 128 MB installed RAM • Color monitor with at least 800x600 resolution and 256 colors • CD-ROM drive (2x or faster) • Mac OS 9 (9.0.4 or later), Mac OS X (10.0.3 or later) • 75 MB free disk space before you install (60 MB after installation) • 56 Kbps or higher modem required to access online features • Intuit checks and an inkjet or laser printer, if you plan to print checks Installing Quicken Before you begin installation, it's a good idea to back up your existing Quicken data files. 1 Start your Macintosh as you usually do. Make sure you aren't running any other applications since you may need to restart your Macintosh after ins tall a tion. 2 Insert the Quicken 2002 Deluxe CD in your CD-ROM drive. 3 Double-dick the Quicken 2002 Deluxe icon to open the CD-ROM window. 4 Double-dick the Quicken 2002 Deluxe Installer icon to start the Installer. 5 Click Continue in the Welcome screen. 6 Read the Software License Agreement and click Accept. 7 Review the installation notes for important information. When done, click Continue. 8 Click Install to install Quicken in the location shown on the screen. Use the pop up under "Install Location" to pick another location. 9 Follow the installation instructions on the screen. 10 (Optional) If you want to be able to use the onscreen user's guide, you may need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader. Just double-dick the Install Acrobat Reader 5.0 icon on the Quicken Deluxe CD-ROM and follow the onscreen instructions. For more information, visit Quicken Technical Support on the Web at: http:/ /www.intuit.com/support/ quicken Upgrading from previous versions of Quicken If you are upgrading from a previous version of Quicken for Macintosh, make sure to move your old Quicken data files into your new Quicken 2002 folder. When you start using Quicken 2002, Quicken creates a backup data file in the format of the version you were previously using and puts it in a folder named Old Quicken Data. Once the backup file is created, Quicken updates your data for Quicken 2002. If you want to use a data file created in Quicken for Windows with Quicken for Macintosh, you can copy (or import) the information from your Windows data file into a Quicken for Macintosh data file. QwikCONGRESS™ Welcome to QwikCONGRESS™. In this package you will find: • QwikCONGRESS™ manual • QwikCONGRESS™ disk • sample sheet with letter & labels from program • 5-sample sheets of 30-up laser labels (Item #76-3x10) The disk contains the QwikCONGRESS™ program, a folder entitled FILES and a self-contained document with How-To-Use instructions that supplement what you read in this manual. The Files folder is a very important part of QwikCONGRESS™. If this folder is not accessible, your program will not operate. Copy the QwikCONGRESS™ program to your hard disk and place your original serial-numbered diskette in a secure place for future reference. To Start: Double Click on the QwikCONGRESS™ icon. You will be presented with a registration box to personalize your copy. Enter your "User Name" (name or company name) and tab to the "Registration Code:" box. Your registration code is printed on the label of your disk. Enter the number exactly as it appears. The program checks for a valid registration code and informs you if the number is incorrect. Reenter the correct number. If you are not ready to use this program or do not have an original copy which contains a valid registration number, you can exit the program by clicking the Quit button. If you have entered your name and registration code, click the OK button to continue in QwikCONGRESS™. Using CONGRESS Page 1 Why QwikCONGRESS™? QwikCONGRESS™ was created to give you an easy-to-use lookup tool containing information about each member of the US Congress. With this registered version you can also change or add information, and include notes that can be saved to the original files. In QwikCONGRESS™ you will find the Name, Address, State, District, Party, Terms, Birthday, Committee Assignments, DC Phone, DC Fax, State Phone, State Fax, E-mail address and whether they are serving as a senator or representative in the current Congress. You can find the members of Congress that you wish to contact and prepare letters, envelopes or labels from within the program. Using QwikCONGRESS™ The Main Screen: The main QwikCONGRESS™ screen includes a SearchFor: window, selection buttons, a list of all words found in QwikCONGRESS™, a selected records window, and a detailed information section for the name currently selected. Selection Options: Enter any word(s) in the Search For: box and QwikCONGRESS™ will select that information subject to the four selection options, Last Name, State, My Reps, and All fields. Three of the four options are self-explanatory. The My Reps option can be set by going to the Search menu and choosing the Find My Reps option. You will see the dialog box below in which you can enter your state and district. If you do not make an entry in the Cong. District: box you will see all members from the state you have entered.
