This Info-Mac package is the Wing Commander III 1.0.2 Updater for the Macintosh release of Origin Systems' cinematic space-combat epic. It applies a small set of bug fixes to existing installs of the Power Mac port, addressing audio and autopilot glitches reported in the original 1.0 ship.
What it patches
According to the bundled release notes, the updater corrects sound playing through only one speaker on certain machines, raises the volume of the enemy missile lock warning, fixes a rare hang where hitting Autopilot just as you were hit would leave the ship uncontrollable, and removes the requirement to click through to see the credits at the end of the winning movie.
About the host game
Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger was Origin's flagship FMV-driven space combat title, featuring full texture-mapped 3D dogfighting and over three hours of filmed cinematic sequences starring Mark Hamill and Malcolm McDowell. The Macintosh edition shipped on four CDs.
