Artemus Marathon2 Secrets is a SimpleText document, complete with embedded screenshots, that catalogues hidden rooms and concealed teleporters across several levels of Bungie's Marathon 2: Durandal. It was written by player Artemus Barnoz and uploaded to Info-Mac as a community hint guide.
Levels covered
The guide focuses on five specific maps: levels 6, 7, 24, 26, and 31. For each, Barnoz documents the secret rooms he found and the teleporter triggers that route to them, with screenshots showing the relevant terminals, switches, and wall textures.
SimpleText with pictures
Rather than a HyperCard stack, the document leans on classic Mac SimpleText's ability to embed PICT graphics inline. That choice keeps the file small, makes it readable on any System 7 or later Mac out of the box, and avoids requiring HyperCard to be installed.
Author's note
Barnoz signs off with a wry disclaimer that the secrets were discovered on his own time, not at the office, a small joke that captures the hobbyist spirit of the Marathon community in the mid-1990s.
