Wolf Levels 1st Enc is a sibling listing for the 1994 Macintosh shareware release of Wolfenstein 3D: First Encounter from id Software and MacPlay. Like its companion entry, it bundles the opening three maps of the full game so 68k Macs running System 6 through Mac OS 9 can sample the original raycast shooter.
Three-Level Demo
First Encounter ships the first three Wolfenstein 3D maps in playable form. Players can complete the slice, see the in-game prompt for the paid Second and Third Encounters, and decide whether to buy the rest.
Classic Wolfenstein 3D
The id Software engine renders textured walls and sprite-based guards from a first-person view, with weapon pickups, secret doors, and end-of-level boss fights that became the template for the early FPS genre.
Platform
The Mac build is a 68k application supported on System 6.x through Mac OS 9 and runs inside SheepShaver and Basilisk II for users on modern hardware.
