Were Back ships as part of Bad to the Bone, a Wolfenstein 3D scenario collection by Josh Mills (copperfield@worldnet.att.net), the maker of Castle Xeen, The Castle of Lost Souls and Dragon Cavern. The pack was uploaded to Info-Mac under game/com/wolf/ as were-back.hqx.
What's in the collection
Bad to the Bone bundles a mix of one- and three-level scenarios for Wolfenstein 3D on the Mac, all built by Josh Mills. The author notes most levels are high quality and look like they came from WolfAddict Software, with no custom graphics created for any scenario in the pack.
Return to Castle Xeen Beta
The headline inclusion is Return to Castle Xeen Beta, an 18-level beta of the sequel to Dragon Cavern, including three secret levels. It requires Wolfenstein 3D Third Encounter and the author warns there may still be bugs.
Compatibility notes
Most scenarios in the pack require Third Encounter. The Killer Yodelers is the only included scenario that works with any version of Wolfenstein 3D, but it requires the Wolf FKEY, which is not bundled with the package.
