The Lunicus PowerMac/AV Mac Patch is the official Cyberflix update that addresses compatibility problems with Lunicus, the 1994 Paramount Interactive sci-fi adventure, when running on PowerPC-based Power Macintoshes and AV-equipped 68k Macs whose audio and video hardware otherwise tripped the original release.
What the patch fixes
Resolves crashes and playback glitches reported on Power Macs and AV Macs, where the game's full-motion video and Talking Cyber Puppets voice sequences misbehaved against the host machine's accelerated multimedia stack.
Applying the update
Distributed as a small StuffIt archive (PPC_Patch.sit, roughly 70 KB) that is dropped onto an existing installed copy of Lunicus 1.x; the patcher updates the application in place.
Parent game
Lunicus combines moonbase exploration with first-person combat against an alien infestation on Earth, using pre-rendered scenes and FMV characteristic of mid-1990s CD-ROM adventures.
Compatibility
Targets Lunicus running on Mac OS systems from the Power Mac launch era through Mac OS 8.1.
