Digital Wipeout is a 1999 educational shareware board game by John and Daniel Mauro in which you roll three dice and combine them with arithmetic to wipe out numbers on a grid before the timer runs down. Up to eight human or computer players can take turns chasing the high score.
Gameplay
Each turn you roll three dice and apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division to produce a target number on the board. Wiping out a number scores points and can also clear adjacent squares, rewarding combos. Solo players try to clear the entire board for a new personal record while multiplayer sessions become a race to outscore the table.
Players and Difficulty
The game supports up to eight players in any mix of human and computer opponents. Computer players come in five levels of difficulty so a single Mac can host anything from a coaching session for a young player to a punishing match for a math wizard.
Customization
An optional timer offers three speeds or can be turned off entirely, individual board elements can be toggled, and players can drop in their own background picture for the playfield. CD-quality sound is provided by Fadeout Studios.
System Requirements
Classic Mac OS, color display, and a small footprint typical of late-90s shareware. Version 4.2 shipped as the holiday 1999 release from John Mauro Software.
