SPAM (Single Player Adventure for the Macintosh) is a no-frills text-adventure authoring tool released as freeware in 1995. Pitched as a back-to-basics alternative to TADS or AGT, it ships with a manual that fits on a single page and runs on virtually any classic Mac.
What It Is
A lightweight authoring system for building single-player text adventures, designed so that anyone frustrated by the complexity of larger interactive-fiction toolkits can produce a working game with minimal ceremony.
Background
The Info-Mac upload was posted by Adrian Gudas (gudas@interlog.com). Macintosh Garden's catalog entry credits Sean Logan as author; the conflict is unresolved here.
System Requirements
Per Macintosh Garden: 68k Macintosh, Mac II or better, 512K RAM minimum, System 7.0 or later. The original Info-Mac description states it will run on "any" Macintosh.
Distribution
Freeware, distributed through Info-Mac as spam-50.hqx and mirrored at Macintosh Garden.
