Bill the Demon is a strategy-arcade game by James Burton in which you play Bill, a small but plucky young demon descending through the nine circles of hell to prove his worth. The game features a scrolling background, colorful graphics, and plenty of surprises along the way.
Premise
You take the role of Bill, a fledgling demon out to earn his standing among the infernal ranks by working downward through hell's nine classical circles, encountering hazards and inhabitants on each level.
Gameplay
Mixes arcade action with light strategy on a scrolling playfield. Each circle introduces new threats and encounters that the author teases as 'plenty of surprises' to be discovered in play.
Graphics
Designed for color Macs capable of at least 256 colors at 640x480. A separate black-and-white build is also distributed for users on monochrome hardware.
System requirements
Requires a Macintosh with a 256-color-capable monitor at 640x480 or larger for the color edition; the bundled BW version targets compact and grayscale Macs.
