This is a sibling listing for David Hirschfield's Mortal Pongbat 1.4.1, the Carnegie Mellon-born Pong remix that bolts beam weapons, mines, and power-up pods onto the 1972 classic. The Info-Mac archive shipped two parallel builds, a 68K version and a PowerPC native version, which is why two catalog entries exist for the same release.
What it is
Pong with paddles, plus a paddle-melting beam weapon, autonomous bouncing mines, and multiple brightly colored pucks in play simultaneously. Pods scattered around the field block pucks and contain pickups when destroyed.
Pickups
Pods drop Invincibility, More Pucks, Bigger Beam, and Fix Shield power-ups, which keep the match swinging unpredictably even when one player is well ahead on score.
68K vs PPC builds
The 68K binary targets 68020 or better Macs running System 7.1 with about 700 KB of free RAM. The companion PowerPC build is functionally identical but recompiled native for PPC hardware.
Modes
Two-player hot-seat and one-player versus computer are both included. Distributed as shareware through Info-Mac.
