Geyser is a 1996 Classic Mac OS puzzle adventure by Jean Marie Chanoine Jr. Players step into the role of Darius, guardian of the sacred geyser of Karamanga, solving riddles and assembling mystical keys to unlock the geyser's powers while fending off spiritual forces that threaten the sanctuary.
Premise
The narrative frames each puzzle as a trial set before Darius, weaving a light fantasy storyline through the brain-teasers rather than presenting them in isolation.
Gameplay
Played from a top-down perspective, Geyser combines riddle-solving with key-construction puzzles, asking the player to think laterally about the items and clues found across its rooms.
System Requirements
Geyser targets 68k Macintosh hardware at the Quadra class or better, requires System 7.0 or later with 32-bit QuickDraw, and needs a color monitor for its artwork.
Compatibility
The title runs under SheepShaver, Basilisk II, and Mini vMac II, making it straightforward to revisit on modern hardware via emulation.
