Gum Fighter is a 1995 click-to-shoot arcade game by Darren Gunton, published by Cyber@ctive and built in Macromedia Director 4. The premise from the Macintosh Garden listing is direct: "You are a Gum Fighter who must shoot the gum balls that fly about the screen."
Gameplay
Players click on moving gum-ball targets that fly across the screen, working through three increasingly difficult levels. Time and ammunition limits add pressure as the levels escalate.
Technology
The game was authored in Macromedia Director 4, the standard rapid-development tool for mid-1990s Mac multimedia titles, which gave small studios like Cyber@ctive a viable path to ship animated arcade-style games quickly.
Compatibility
Gum Fighter targets System 7.0 through 7.6 and Mac OS 9, falling squarely into the late-Classic era of casual Mac shareware.
