Per.Oxyd is Dongleware's 1993 sequel to the cult marble-puzzle game Oxyd, expanding the original's mouse-driven landscapes to 200 levels and over 250 interactive elements while keeping the same trademark goal: roll a black marble and open the Oxyd stones in matching pairs.
How it plays
You guide a single black marble across top-down landscapes by tilting the playfield with the mouse. Touching an Oxyd stone reveals a colored symbol; finding its match before time runs out opens the pair. Clear every Oxyd on a level to advance.
What's in the box
Per.Oxyd ships with 200 numbered landscapes spanning over 150 million pixels of total play area, plus a free-play set of 20 unlocked levels and a layered library of switches, magnets, lasers, one-way floors, and trap tiles that the original Oxyd never had.
Mac shareware release
The Mac edition (4.6 in the Info-Mac archive) is 68k software that runs cleanly under System 6.x through Mac OS 9. The free download is a complete game; a Dongleware-issued code book unlocked the remaining levels.
Legacy and Enigma
Per.Oxyd is the second entry in the Oxyd trilogy and the design template for the open-source fan project Enigma, which can read original Dongleware level packs and now ships over a thousand community-built landscapes drawing on the same physics.
