About

Fuffy is a Mac dice game by Chong-Yee Khoo, released in 2000 and preserved on Macintosh Garden as a board game. Each match unfolds across thirteen rounds in which players roll dice up to three times per turn and assign their results to one of thirteen scoring categories that may each be used only once.

How a round plays

On each turn the player rolls all five dice, then chooses which to keep and which to re-roll, with up to three rolls available. The challenge lies in deciding when to lock in a strong combination and when to gamble on a better category fit.

Scoring categories

Thirteen distinct categories give the game its strategic spine. Because each slot can be filled only once across the match, players must weigh short-term gains against the risk of leaving a high-value category empty later in the game.

Strategy and chance

Fuffy sits in the classic Yahtzee-style family, blending probability management with light tactical planning. Skilled players think several rounds ahead, sacrificing weak rolls into low-value slots to preserve premium categories for big combinations.

Author and platform

The game is the work of Chong-Yee Khoo and runs on Classic Mac OS. It exemplifies the late-1990s and early-2000s wave of small, polished Mac board and dice titles distributed as shareware.
