NetTron is a 1999 Macintosh game from Interius Software for two to four players, built around the Tron light cycle concept. Players steer trails that grow continuously across the arena, and the last cycle still moving wins the round on classic Mac OS hardware.
Light cycles, Mac-style
The core loop will be familiar to anyone who has played a Tron clone: do not crash into walls, do not crash into your own trail, and do not crash into the other riders. Reflexes and angle management decide every round.
Network and local play
NetTron supports up to four simultaneous players, with networked multiplayer alongside local play, making it well suited to LAN sessions on classic Mac hardware.
Customization
The rules and gameplay mechanics are extensively customizable, so groups can tune speed, arena size, and other parameters to match their preferred style.
Release
Distributed as NetTron 2.0 for classic Mac OS, the game is preserved at Macintosh Garden.
