Tglba (The Great Light Bulb Adventure) is a first-person adventure game for the Classic Mac OS, distributed through the Info-Mac archive. Submitted by dcdixon@mtu.edu, the release blurb pitches it modestly as an outing with okay graphics and an interesting plot, aimed at players who enjoyed the era's text-and-image puzzle quests.
Premise
The game casts the player into a first-person quest framed around the titular light bulb, leaning on inventory puzzles and exploration in the tradition of mid-1990s Mac shareware adventures.
System Requirements
Per the included notes the title needs a 680x0 processor, a 256-color monitor, roughly 1000K of free RAM, and a mouse, putting it comfortably in reach of any color-capable Classic Mac of the period.
Distribution
Tglba shipped as tglba_v132.sit.hqx through Info-Mac, the volunteer-run mirror network that funneled Macintosh shareware to FTP sites worldwide before the web took over software distribution.
Preservation Note
The Info-Mac BinHex submission is the primary surviving artifact. No matching Macintosh Garden listing was located at enrichment time, so background and screenshots are limited to the original archive metadata.
This file is part of the MacTrove archive. See the Thank You page for the upstream mirrors we rely on. It is BinHex encoded — use The Unarchiver to decode it.
