DiplomacyLog 1.81 is a free HyperCard stack by bsharvy that helps players track games of Diplomacy, particularly the play-by-email variety. It runs on any Mac with HyperCard 2.1 or later and uses graphical patterns for nationalities instead of the traditional letter codes, with floating windows for notes and unit tallies.
What it tracks
Designed for managing the state of one or many concurrent Diplomacy games: order histories, unit positions, and player notes are all captured inside the stack rather than scribbled on paper maps.
Visual approach
Uses distinct patterns to represent the seven Great Powers in place of letters, making the board easier to read at a glance, and provides floating windows for note-taking alongside the map.
Flexibility
The stack is clone-able, so players can keep one stack for every game they play or create a separate stack per game. Unit counting is built in to ease bookkeeping during adjudication.
Cost
Free. The author maintained updates at efn.org/~bsharvy/crunchy.html during the stack's active life.
Requirements
Any Macintosh capable of running HyperCard 2.1 or newer.
