David's BackGammon 2.6.2 is a polished backgammon game for classic Mac OS, billed by its author as easy to use and complete. It runs on any Mac with a 68030 or faster processor, including Power Macs and the G3, and supports both System 7 and System 8.
Gameplay
Five skill levels span beginner to advanced. Play against the computer or a friend at the same Mac, with on-line help and the ability to take back moves and doubles of the cube.
Interface and presentation
Easy-to-use interface with strong graphics and sound. Speech is supported. Multiple board sizes are available, and board colors can be customized or designed from scratch.
Coaching features
The game gives advice on moves and on the doubling cube, can show best moves, and lets the player set up arbitrary board situations for study.
Compatibility
Works on 68030 and later, through Power Mac and G3, under System 7 and 8. Distributed via the Info-Mac archive.
