Roidz is a small Asteroids-style arcade game written in Pascal by an author posting as Pigeon (dethpigeon@hotmail.com). Released as a 0.9a build through the Info-Mac archive in December 2000, it ships with thorough documentation tucked inside the StuffIt distribution.
A Hobbyist Pascal Project
Roidz was assembled in Pascal, putting it in the long Mac tradition of Think Pascal and CodeWarrior Pascal hobby projects. The 0.9a label flags it as a late-alpha build that the author considered playable but still pre-release.
Compact Arcade Action
The author's own description is brief: a small and cool game. The naming and era place it squarely in the Asteroids lineage of single-screen rock-shooting arcade titles that were a staple of shareware Mac development.
Documentation Included
Rather than relying on a website, the distribution carries its own thorough documentation inside the StuffIt files, covering controls and gameplay so the package is self-contained once unstuffed.
Source Available Separately
A companion Pascal source release, roidz-09a-src.hqx, was posted to Info-Mac's dev/src directory on the same day, making Roidz one of the era's open-source Mac hobby games.
