SpoydWorks Solitaire is a 1990 color solitaire collection for 68k Macintoshes by Steve Boyd, published under the SpoydWorks shareware label. Bundling six distinct patience variants in a single application, it became a fixture on classic Mac shareware compilations through the early 1990s and is preserved as Spoydworks Solitaire 1.2.1 in the Mac archive.
Six Games in One
The collection includes Easthaven, Klondike, Spiderette, Westcliff, Will o' the Wisp, and Yukon. Each variant is presented in the same top-down card view, letting players move easily between rule sets without re-learning the interface.
Presentation
Card art and table layout are designed for early color Macs, with a clean Mac-native menu structure for selecting games, dealing new hands, and undoing moves. The single-application design kept disk and memory footprints small.
System Requirements
SpoydWorks Solitaire targets 68k Macintosh hardware and runs from System 6.x through Mac OS 8.1. It is comfortable inside Mini vMac and other classic-era emulators.
Author and Distribution
Authored by Steve Boyd and distributed as shareware via Info-Mac and similar mirrors, the title is archived as spoydworks121.cpt and listed on Macintosh Garden, where a screenshot of the playfield is preserved.
