Alan's Euchre is a 1998 Macintosh implementation of the classic four-player trick-taking card game by Alan Ewalt of Ewalt Enterprises. Played with a 24-card deck of 9s through Aces, two teams of two race to ten points by winning hands of five tricks each.
How Euchre Plays
Each hand consists of three events: bidding for trump, the play, and scoring. Points are awarded to the team that wins three or more out of five tricks, with bonuses for sweeping all five or for going alone.
A Companion to Alan's Euchre 1
This release sits alongside its sibling Alan's Euchre 1, sharing the same Ewalt Enterprises pedigree and the same straightforward presentation aimed at solo players who want a reliable computer Euchre opponent.
Compatibility
The package shipped with both 68k and PowerPC builds and runs cleanly under System 7.0 through Mac OS 9, making it a good fit for emulators such as SheepShaver and Basilisk II.
