About

Domino is a Macintosh implementation of the Spanish partner game Dominó a compañeros, released in 1997 by Akio Iino. Two pairs of players match tiles in bridge-like teamwork until one side reaches 200 points, with adjustable language, sound, and scoring preferences across System 6 through Mac OS 9.

Partner Play

Teams of two sit across from one another and cooperate to empty their hands while keeping the opposing pair from scoring. The dynamic resembles Contract Bridge: signaling through which tiles you place becomes as important as the pips themselves.

Rules and Scoring

Each round opens with the holder of the Double Six and ends either when a player runs out of tiles, called Domino, or when neither side can move, called Cierre. Pip totals from the losing hands feed the running score, and the first team to 200 points wins.

Preferences

A preferences panel lets you adjust the target score, choose the interface language, and toggle sound effects, so the same engine can host a casual two-handed match or a tournament-length contest.

Compatibility

Domino is a 68k application that runs cleanly under System 6.x through Mac OS 9 on real hardware and inside SheepShaver, Basilisk II, or Mini vMac II for modern users.
